I used the wave form collapse algorithm and a map of Kanto from #Pokemon to generate new maps a while back.

I kinda want to work on it more, to also support gen 2 and gen 3 and also allow you to have some influence over it, so you can for example mark things as a route or as a city etc. or even have an algorithm that generates a world map first and then fills it up with cities, routes etc.

I have a Pokemon hot take.

In Red/Blue/Yellow, Giovanni should've had his full gym team at gym levels in the entire game, and the battles should've been scripted to continue when you lose. Then you showdown with him at Viridian gym and finally kick his ass, and it's all the more satisfying for having failed before.

Ok, this is a bit of why the heck does the bike shop text bug happens.

Instead of actually re using the code from the shops, they had to basically re implement the whole shop code including input logic apparently, to show a number bigger than the shop logic is probably prepared to show.
You can see the string at line 86, and the coords of the price box at lines 52, 57 and 60. I still dont know where its setting the text speed to fast tho, maybe line 51? That's flipping something...

huh, another nice detail about from #PokemonRed I didnt knew about. I Fuchsia City, In the zoo, the exhibit shows you specifically the fossil you didn't chose! Never noticed it, I just tough it showed it both in different parts or maybe depending on the version. Just never payed attention.

Playing around with the disassembled code from Pokemon Red, and I found something I didn't knew, there is actual random dialogue in this game! #PokemonRed
