Excellent! If you know others who are working on maritime themes, please direct them towards us. We are a motley crew--people working on , involving the same, , the , , and much more. Our definition of "" is ample. I work in the 16th and 17th centuries, but we have followers who are medievalists and others who work in the 21st C. The is what brings us all together!

Hello, sailors! I created this group several months ago so that those of us interested in all sorts of maritime topics could share our work and support one another in our research on various kinds of nautical endeavors. I'm very pleased to announce the publication of my essay "Time of Catastrophe: temporalities in the transatlantic relación of Diego Portichuelo de Ribadeneyra" in this volume. This essay about an astonishingly difficult navigation from Callao to the Bay of Cádiz is part of my book in progress, _The Seafarer’s Bond: Risk, Transaction and Textual Circulation in the Iberian Atlantic (1544–1660)_. The chapter is easily downloadable as a PDF from the ebook of the Companion. Perhaps encourage your library to purchase the ebook. ⚓️ Okay, your turn now! Please share your work about the and related topics, such as and in our group!

This post from a member of the Early Modern Maritime Studies Group I organized not long ago meant *the world* to me: 😊 "I'm glad you like it, Elizabeth! And thanks for providing a platform for the wider early modern Iberian world!" Made all the time and effort worth it. The group has over 100 members now! If you work on the in any manner (, , , , , , etc.), check us out! @earlymodernmaritimestudies

Hello, everyone! I hope you survived the server tempest, despite the loss of data, etc. Please, let’s reconnect! I write to let you know that I created the @earlymodernmaritimestudies group right before the server went down. Here’s the revised group description, for those whose work & interests fit. As you can see, we use “early modern” expansively! Have a look!
