Today, #Congress passed the Respect for Marriage Equality Act. This was critical. Although #marriageequality was already protected by the #Constitution under #SupremeCourt precedent, this #SCOTUS showed that it has no respect for #precedent when it overturned #abortion rights. That abortion ruling called into question all other constitutional privacy rights, like marriage equality. Now, with the RMEA, it can’t be questioned. This is a huge win for #justice and #theruleoflaw because the special master appointment, which impeded a federal investigation, set a dangerous #precedent .
