Tried out #TrueCaller, but as I feared I can't pay for it on #GrapheneOS without setting up a Google account. Tried using the throwaway account I've used for #Android in the past, but it wouldn't accept a #PrivacyDotCom card, so I uninstalled TrueCaller and removed the account.

Is there a premium or truly free voice & SMS anti-spam/fraud app that'll work on GrapheneOS without forcing me to pay through Google Play?

Update: nope. APK has exactly the same issue.

#PrivacyDotCom sees each #OpenCollective collective as a separate merchant, so if I want to support multiple collectives I have to create a separate card for each.

Additionally, #PrivacyDotCom pulled a few cents out of my account to make sure I entered my debit card correctly, so my bank IS allowing Privacy.com to pull money out from my account, but not these two “niche” services for some bizarre reason.

I’m starting to suspect maybe my bank is preventing me from paying for these “niche” services. First, I couldn’t buy a #PinePhone, now I can’t renew my cellular plan. So, I’m gonna try using #PrivacyDotCom and see if that works.
