Join Creative Commons team members this Thursday for an online pop-up conversation hosted by Project Liberty on Generative AI and The Commons.

Creative Commons has long worked to ensure that copyright doesn’t overreach when it comes to training AI or use of AI’s outputs. Given recent litigation around generative AI, the debate is reaching a critical moment — both to defend copyright’s limits, but also promote responsible development and use of AI in ways that address concerns from creators and others.

Our hope is to help create practical solutions that both grow the commons and support better sharing of creative content to address issues around consent, credit, compensation, and beyond. Join us for a brief overview of the themes we see emerging so far, and an interactive discussion about AI and the commons.
