And clearly, its not about honouring one's moral compass (assuming one has one) - why should athletes care if those who pay them profit from carbon industries causing global warming, have terrible human rights issues, sponsor assassinations - and worse?
I'm not expecting we'll ever hear of any pro athlete quitting in honour of what sport is supposed to be about. #prosports

You want the players to be healthy, we all do.

But if they all feel pressure to perform in excessive war-like clashes, to get past the 2/3 year barrier, that's hurtful.

Hurtful is not what Pro Sports should be.
