Iggy Pop released his second solo album, “Lust for Life”
Iggy’s first album, The Idiot, came out just a few months earlier. It had a very different sound. With Lust for Life, Iggy returns to his more familiar proto-punk sound, a result Pop wanting more influence and control over this Bowie produced album as he had on The Idiot.
This album and 1979’s “New Values” are my favorite Iggy Pop albums, although I also like several tunes from his 80’s and early 90’s albums.
Great cover art too. Says it all. I’m clean now, with a renewed…lust for life 😏
Probably one of the best songs ever imho, the title track, with it’s huge drum sound and Bowie provided hooks. An unforgettable anthem.

England's Glory - “City of Fun” (1973/1989)
England's Glory was Peter Perrett's pre-The Only Ones band and included Perrett on guitar and vocals.
This is from their "Legendary Lost Album," which was recorded in 1973 but released officially (there were bootlegs in the interim years) in 1989.
If this song sounds familiar, it’s because Parrett re-recorded this song later with the Only Ones. It’s on their album “Special View”
