Last week I got my tapes out to look for the 6 part BBC radio adaptation, found it played it and broke the tape, spending a long time online looking for ways to splice cassette tape. Plenty of help.

Bu today looked at Naxos and Audible to see if it was there. Audible has it! After much fiddling, converting downloaded .aax file to MP4 with audibleconvert.com, I can report it is very good. 5 hrs 25.

Proust can be done reading and listening, toggling between the two.

IN SEARCH OF LOST PROUST

There seems to be no inexpensive paperbacks of the Moncrieff to be found. And almost all the little #Proust there is on Mastodon seems to have been created by me.

Are those lucky enough to have bought a copy of Swann's Way too busy reading it to write a few words on Mastodon on their progress, reaction to, feelings about, understanding so far, and so on?

It seems it has to be a search elsewhere for a current Proust readers.

No names, no pack drill but received Swan's Way through the post with print so small you'd need a microscope to read. No credits, no page margins, just chapter one straight in.

There must be many editions like this with copywrite gone. How to sort and sift to find a proper copy is a bit like trying to chose some white good.

So it's back online, but not to Amazon but a decent book seller.

e-Proust, is fine, but a book in the hand at bedtime is essential.
