Eye of the Beast! luckily there was a white guy to save the Cree woman *rolls eye* She did at least get to stab the eye of said beast. Course they killed the other Native folks and let the *racist* white fishermen live. Sigh. Some actual Native folks in it but yeah, all died. Dawsons Creek is not a believable hero lol

Squid was mostly practical which was cool. CG didn't look that bad.

The racism wasn't needed to be in this movie so wtf

I'm watching Grizzly II (filmed in 1983, released in 2020)

It has John Rhys-Davies who is fucknig Welsh playing a generic native helping the whites hunt the grizzly. But actually he's not native, he's a white guy who "went crazy" after a grizzly bear attack, and started living "as a native"...

what even the hell lol

but also that's probably the least bizarre thing about this movie. If you're a bad movie aficionado, it is worth a watch

I have watched the first 3 Highlander movies. I wouldn't overly advise you to do the same. They do get less boring as they go, and the 3rd one is really a remake of the first. It is less boring, almost no moping around, and for some reason no Sean Connery "pretending" to be Spanish.

It's a very thin, nonsensical, pointless, and I guess we're just supposed to like the Highlander b/c he's a lighthaired white guy. I feel bad for younger self thinking this was good lol

On the other hand, I have been watching a lot of movies today. Hitchcock's Rear Window.

wow this movie is *sexist* as fuck. And even though Matlock killed his wife, it sure seems to be more that the real crime is him almost trying to kill "young adult" 50 year old James Stewart. White men sure are babies!

The relationship between him and 21 years younger than him Grace Kelly is icky af.

Now I want to go watch Mimic 3! I wonder if I have a copy

Pitch Black is about interdependence and how you can't trust white men, and that's why it's the best movie ever!

A bit hyperbolic there but I really do think it's about that even if by accident. Johns and Riddick are mirrors, both on the same journey of learning interdependence. Riddick is successful and Johns is not. Also a white woman making up for her previous behaviors/beliefs, learning not to ally w/ the white man.

It's not an unproblematic movie, but I do rather enjoy it!

I Am Fish is an adorable hellish puzzley physics game that my brain can barely manage. Luckily @actualcassomary can do things I can't.

I would love to be able to experience the cute and bizarre story with some #accessibility options! Like extra check points, sticky physics, bumpers, guide lines, etc? Or how about at least no score penalty for skipping to the next checkpoint since that at least is a thing!

Imagine making a 6 hour drama set in a sleepy tourist seaside village, with people dying, houses burning, kids suffering the consequences of their parents' actions, just for the moral of the story to be that counterfeits of big fashion brands are bad and also Chinese manufacturing is bad. That's what L'accident 2016/2017 did.

Oh and also they wrote a sort of foolish and mystical Chinese man too.
