Testing my new full size 1/4 wave for 20 meters. Setup only takes a few minutes and it seems to work quite well. Using a PAC-12 mount and BD7IBI 5.6 meter whip with four radials. Only called CQ a few times using -mini / 5 Watts .

You know this situation: you want a QRP kit, and you can't choose whether you should buy the mini from qrp-lab or the (tru)sdx from DL2MAN and PE1NZZ, because you are learning CW and so it would be nice to have SSB too, just in case?

I was in exactly this situation recently.

And I did exactly what a standard ham would do.
I bought both.

So far, I was used to /portable TRX like , , which need 0,3A RX and max 1,5A TXMy new/used is very different: 1A RX, 8A when transmitting 20W ; this seems so highly inefficient. Why is it like that?

The mini is alive!! Current cost of plugging a key into the wrong jack:
* Voltage regulator
* Si5351A
* FST3253
* Arduino for ATMega328P
* Hot air station (what project doesn’t need some new bench equipment?!)
