After a few weeks of testing, I conclude that the #Vybe #eWallet from BPI still has ways to go before it can replace whatever e-wallet app you're using.
I like the idea of a single wallet that works with #QRph codes -- without paying fees (then earn points), but it's too finicky with #QRph codes and will insist they aren't valid
#SeaBank 's app can quickly, and reliably recognize QRph codes. Also free.
It's just annoying that it requires me to take off my mask, to face-verify occasionally.
π The new #eWallet from BPI looks promising, and is already available to current BPI Online users in the @philippines
π° I like that it takes advantage of the @pinoy #QRph for cross-wallet transactions, to pay or transfer funds to other eWallets like #Gcash, #Maya, #ShopeePay, etcetera.
β So far, it doesn't seem to charge anything for the service, and the best thing about it is that #DuckDuckGo's APT doesn't report any tracking attempts by the app.

Re "Hindi puedeβ
@evelyn Frankly, many people at the counter don't always know. Even before #QRph, it was possible to pay #Gcash users with #Maya via #Instapay. There are transaction fees, of course, but possible.
What you could've done was scan the QR on your #Maya app. If it's recognized, you're good to go.
@evelyn
Yep. That's the #QRph logo, and yes it *should* work with other #ewallets that operate in the #Philippines.
@evelyn Like I wrote earlier, it depends. There are a few who don't charge anything for cross-wallet/bank transfers, while everyone seems to offer internal transfers (i.e. same wallet/bank) for free.
For cross-transfer fees, see this previous toot https://social.tchncs.de/@gowin/109662036901616144
These days, if you see a QR payment code sporting the #QRph logo, that means it's inter-operable, and should work with any #eWallet or banking app that supports payments via QR codes.
@evelyn Basically, the BSP mandated all banks and #ewallet service providers to inter-operate with each other by using a common #QRph standard, piggybacking on #PesoNet and #InstaPay. In theory, consumers no longer need not maintain different apps or #eWallets to transfer funds to each other, but in reality, some consumers find the transaction fees a turn-off, especially if they do a lot of inter-wallet transactions.

@evelyn π Same here. I never had a #gCash, so I used to need another app for vendors stuck on this #eWallet . These days, thanks to #QRph , it's so much easier to transact across eWallets.
Yeah, this incident you described is a bit suspicious for me, too. I'd direct them to the nearest Globe shop. Scammers come in all forms, and ages.
The #QRph code is the #Philippines' Bangko Sentral's way of ensuring compatibility across #eWallets in the market.
It may be interoperable, but service providers still charge transaction fees for moving funds to other eWallets.
I found that #SeaBank's app works for #GCash, #Maya or whatever #bank/#eWallet that supports the #QRph standard, and they DO NOT charge ridiculous fees (for now?) for the transactions
