The ongoing high melt conditions in #Greenland has also hastened* the demise of the seasonal #SeaIce. At our field site in NW near #Qaanaaq, @esa 's #Sentinel2 captured this gorgeous image yesterday...
*Worth emphasising that it is quite normal for sea ice to break up and melt at this time of year in this location.

I've never seen the Elephant's foot #Glacier (other than in pictures), which is in a very remote part of NE #Greenland
But this one is a similar shape & therefore highly appropriate for #Mastodon.
As well as being a beautiful illustration of the viscosity of #ice

Sitting at #Qaanaaq Airport waiting for flight south and the #Greenland national #dogsled race at #Sisimiut is on #KNR TV; whole airport (at least 20 people!) are cheering on the local boys..
Very exciting. More channels outside Greenland should show this.
