Lesson 3 of Understanding Quantum Information & Computation with John Watrous is out now!

Lesson 3 of Unit 1 introduces the quantum circuit model, as well as some important mathematical concepts including inner products, orthogonality, and projections.

A few fundamental limitations of quantum information, including the no-cloning theorem, are also discussed.

What a year. It has been a good experience to see the discussion culture being ramped up again, after Covid times. It has been the most productive year of my life, with some set-backs. It feels safe to say that #quantuminformation has already felt less exciting than now. Merry xmas.

I think a quantum computer is a very much controlled quantum many body system, while a condensed matter system is a little controlled quantum computer.

Generally, I often like rigorous, mathematically minded work, but also prefer to think practically and pragmatically, be guided by the protocol or the phenomenon, and at the same time enjoy working with experimentalists.
