On the day #Chess officially joins the #MeToo world (shocking absolutely nobody), it's time to repost an old story about a beloved reigning world champion who now appears regularly on news programs. I first posted this after watching #QueensGambit :

Hilarious burn to hire Kasparov as a consultant, then show the fictional long standing Soviet chess champion treat the young talented woman who just beat him with respect and acknowledement, rather than blatently cheating to avoid the loss, and having the whole chess world pretend it didn't happen.

Remember when Kasparov blatently brazenly cheated in a game against 17 year old Judit Polgar, because he couldn't stand losing to "a girl", and the chess world (including all the other men around them during that tournament) ignored and abetted his cheating?

At the time Judit was the youngest Grandmaster in history. The impact on her career of this betrayal by Kasparov and all the rest of her peers was obvious.

Kasparov, their treatment of Polgar, and their ongoing silence is a continuing stain on the chess world.

So, yes, I loved Queen's Gambit for showing a chess world both as it is still today and as it could become.

"Unprecedented growth of #chess over the last few weeks..." HUH?! Did another chess movie come out or something? #ChessDotCom hasn't been this unstable since the #QueensGambit drama series craze during the early days of the pandemic.

I'm checking out other #chess sites now. TBH the UI/UX at lichess isn't as impressive, but stability is more important when playing online chess. Any recommendations? T.I.A.✌🏿

我看完了。太好看了。太好看了。看得我真的是，全身舒爽，比高潮还爽。

这剧节奏真的好，是那种知道要在哪里慢下来，给观者也给女主时间去接受，成长，和摔跤的。七集也正正好，短一点我觉得不够火候，再长了又显得拖沓。

太好了。我不禁在脑海里一遍一遍回忆。而且每一幕都好美啊，安雅真的就长在我的点上，怎么就能长着娃娃脸还能这么又高冷又欲！
