I know “queer” isn’t a perfect way to encompass the many #LGBTQIA2S plus community members, and that “ornithology” has been used to exclude folks in the past, but I want to promote and connect with the broadest community I can!

I’m queer (#bi #pan but also #agender which falls in the #enby non-binary #trans umbrella, married to a beautiful trans lesbian woman who is also a #birder and #biology professional)— I know how important it was for me to find #QueerOrnithology folks!

For many #queer #lgbtq folks, knowing that there are others like them in the field can make a world a difference! Many of us would love to connect with mentors and advisors who will support our identities!

I started using the #QueerOrnithology tag to connect queer and queer-questioning bird researchers of any career or career stage (#SciComm, #CommunityScience, students, everyone!)
