On this day in 2016, I went for a ride on the Pichi Richi Railway in South Australia.

This tourist railway operates between Port Augusta and Quorn in the Flinders Ranges, on the former 3'6" (1067mm) gauge Central Australian Railway.

The line was closed in the 1970s in favour of a Standard Gauge link on a flatter route and now operates as a tourist railway, with a variety of steam and diesel trains running on the 39km line which twists and turns through the Pichi Richi pass in the South Australian outback.
