If you mute a loud, obnoxious celebrity on #Twitter, you'll still see their (hidden) post taking up space inside a #QuoteTweet.

If you mute a person on #Mastodon, you won't see these because they can't exist. At least, not yet.

One of the things I loved about quote tweets that I am not sure if it could be transferred to the fediverse was clicking on the quote tweets for a post. After seeing post I was unsure about, l could sometimes find more insights this way about a topic.

I like that you can't #QuoteToot here. The #quotetweets feature isn't a great part of twitter. It allows people to grab tweets out of a wider context to encourage pile on behavior. I don't think it is needed here in the #Fediverse

It's Christmas Eve and #QuoteToot is trending on Mastodon. Good grief people.

The #QT #QuoteToot controversy(?) has reminded me of this great line from 2015 when twitter changed the ⭐️ to ❤️
