Finally an article from the sports press that actually explains the mechanisms by which Rubiales could be dealt with. (I get very frustrated with soccer media's propensity to cover verbal conflict at the expense of facts.)

Those methods are:
* a court injunction
* a FIFA ban
* a vote of no confidence by RFEF

Look, I don’t pretend to be informed about Spanish soccer culture or the #RFEF. Everything I’ve seen has been scandal aired in the U.S. sports press after #WWC2023. But this does seem like one of those times you just need to listen to the players and other women. And trust your own lying eyes.

The line I quoted was by far the least colorful and outraged in the article. Read the piece if you want a bracing basketful of indignation at the deplorable #Rubiales and #RFEF.

“This is what #Spain’s players were trying to bring to the world’s attention: a great big system of disrespect, unprofessionalism, and gross incompetence” in #RFEF.
