A blast from the past: I finally connected up the #Amiga 500 that a friend let me have -- and my heart jumped a bit when I saw the "insert disk" screen for the first time since many, many years! The #RGBtoHDMI board even made it possible to feed the output to a modern screen.
Now I am looking forward to hearing the familiar floppy sound again :)
I already bought an USB floppy emulator though, as I have no actual disks lying around anymore :-/
I hope I can restore the original keyboard though!
Yesterday I ordered both a #PiStorm and an #RGBtoHDMI for my #Amiga #Amiga500 on ebay. This morning my order got canceled because the items were out of stock.
As I asked politely, whether they will be back in future, they told me, that the shop owner died yesterday 😮. Now I feel sorry for him and his beloves and cannot even think of complaining for not getting the items. Don't know what to say...

The #RGBtoHDMI project which came from some leading lights in the #Stardot community is technically excellent, and open source. Digital or analog RGB to HDMI, with a raspberry pi and a small CPLD board.
It happens to be very low latency too. And it works for very many retro computers: acorn, amstrad, spectrum, ibmpc, dragon, tandy, c64, appleii, amiga, and on and on...

This is a neat solution for a non-destructive #RGBtoHDMI installation in (or rather on) the Amiga 500! The designers just emailed me about it and I like it a lot! https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/63688-rgbtohdmi-adapter-housing-for-amiga-500
