#RicParnell was a big part of that. In Rob Reiner's classic comedy, the guitarist, singer, and bassist for Spinal Tap were portrayed by actors Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, and Harry Shearer. But the band's drummer, Mick Shrimpton, was played by Ric Parnell, the Atomic Rooster drummer who performed and recorded with many acts. (You may have heard his drumming in the Toni Basil hit "Mickey.") Ric Parnell died in May 2022, leaving behind a body of work to be proud of – including his work in one of the best comedies ever.
