Just unboxed the #LicheePi4A #RISCV board. Currently installing #NixOS on it. Takes ages, cause there's no binary caches for riscv64-linux and it compiles everything from scratch. Feels a bit like the old Gentoo days ๐
But I can't complain so far. Everything seems to be working, I just have to be patient...
New PCB ready to send for fabrication - a mini CO2 sensor with Sharp Memory LCD, precise RTC and UV/visible sensor too. The PCB is about as small as my KiCad skills and hands can make it - about 40mm wide. "Shoulder buttons" to navigate the UI. Supercapacitor to keep the RTC time for about a week with no power plus LiPo charge management. The heart of it is the #CH32V203 MCU - 144Mhz 32-bit #RISCV with 64K FLASH and 20K SRAM (about 46 cents each).

Created a new KiCad symbol today for the QFN20 version of the CH32V003. I wish it had more FLASH+RAM, but it's still useful for some relatively small, simple (and inexpensive) MCU projects.
I assembled the first version of my CH32V203 Pocket CO2 Sensor project today. The Sharp LCD and most of the board works, but I forgot pull-up resistors on the RTC and it doesn't appreciate that. An ugly patch and I got things working; not too bad for a v1 board. The LiPo charging / LDO all work fine. I didn't solder the LSM6DS3 in case of an error and I was right to do that :)

The #RISCV #CH32V203 version of my Pocket CO2 sensor is coming along. The schematic is nearly complete and I hope to order my first PCBs this weekend. Lots of sensors and soldering challenges. The parts so far:
- CH32V203F8P6 (64K FLASH / 20K SRAM, 144Mhz)
- SCD4x CO2 sensor
- LSM6DS3 6DOF IMU
- LTR-390 UV/Visible light sensor
- RV-3032-C7 low power RTC
- 3x high power white LEDs (flashlight)
- TP4057 battery charge controller
- 128x128 Sharp Memory LCD
- 2x push buttons
- 2x status LEDs
I didn't get USB working on the CH32V203, but I did get my bit bang I2C code working. The consolidation of functions in the TSSOP20 package are pretty terrible. SWDIO, USB and I2C are all on pins 1&2.
