I found an RSS reader that does the job in the AppStore. Nothing fancy, itโs barebones, but it does the job without needing a sub. All the content I post from here on will be accessible to all. :rssblobcattaza:

I'm just getting started with RSS. Installed NewsFlash and added my favorite news sites and YouTube channels (with Piped). It's much more efficient to read news this way.
The only weird thing is, I can't remove sites. Idk if it's a NewsFlash thing or RSS in general.

@testing Why I think I'd like to see #Kbin use Magazine specific #RSS feed files. Right now it looks like it has a sitewide RSS function that just pulls the data from a database, but then the #RSSFeed generated all are named a generic kbin.social even though the data properly displays for the Magazine feed. Right now, ANY magazine you add to a RSS feed reader will have the generic kbinservername Title. That feed seems correct though. You can just rename the feed kbin.social magASEAN
Ok, #RSSFeed being built into both #Kbin and #Lemmy makes moving a lot easier as part of the #redditmigration just point at the RSS feed for the Magazine (Kbin) or Community (Lemmy) and read away in your RSS feed reader of choice.
Kbin example: https://kbin.social/rss?magazine=RedditMigration
kbinserver/rss?magazine=magazinename
(individually named feed file would be nice instead of a generic rss followed by a ?magazine=)
Lemmy example: https://beehaw.org/feeds/c/technology.xml?sort=New
lemmyserver/feeds/c/nameofcommunity.xml?sort=type
#RSSFeed #redditmigration #Lemmy #kbin
A spark of joy to see one of my papers in a journal #RSSFeed. And this one is special! #Chemiverse #CompChem https://www.nature.com/articles/s41524-023-00973-1

@leswarden This is why I tuned out. I got an #RSSfeed app on my phone, curated the news feeds I wanted, and installed #groundnews. They cover these stories on their sites, I noticed. On #socialmedia and #legacymedia it's just propaganda and sensationalism. The real news is in their text-based stories on their sites.

Been using https://indieweb.social/@NetNewsWire for my #rss reader and getting some blogs and other sources added.
What is your RSS or someone who I should follow too? Consider following my #rssfeed while youโre at it: https://claytonerrington.com/feed.xml
Any of you #Politics #news addicts know of a decent #RSSFeed alternative to #CurrentStatus (currentstatus.io) ?
It's not been updated for a couple of weeks now and I guess I need a new feed since I refuse to use #Twitter

Did you know that there is an #RSSFeed for every #youtube channel?
If supported by your client, you can use the channel URL. If not supported, open the channel page source code and look for 'title="RSS"', the feed URL will be next to it..
For example it's
https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?channel_id=UC5UAwBUum7CPN5buc-_N1Fw
for @thelinuxEXP channel :ablobcatbongo:

ah, it seems like Tweetfeed is excellent if I wanted to provide RSS for my own tweets--
But I only want to TOOT!
And of course follow some Tweeters.
Will play around with it when I have a moment. If I can make an RSS feed for a Twitter List then this could be the right tool for the job.

@AdamMackay @adamrawnsley #RSS #RSSFeed ooooh, now I can follow myself on Old Reader to make sure I am not saying anything too stupid!
