It almost looks like the stage separation didn’t trigger and the booster just kept going. There’s a moment after the booster destruct where it almost looks like Starship fired it’s engines before the flight termination system triggered.

If the stack got through Max-Q that’s a definitely a good outcome. This isn’t like the SLS where it’s years between flights, there’s multiple ships/boosters waiting in the wings.

Indeed looks like 30 seconds after takeoff, first one, then another engine next to it on the outer ring exploded, you can see that nicely in the video.

I am super surprised that the whole rocket didn't RUD at that time already. Looks like a very solid basic design.

But it was probably impossible to have stable steering of the gigantic rocket afterwards...

I am sure they have loads and loads of valuable data to improve upon. Excellent!

The good news is that Stage Zero seems not to have suffered any visible damage. Losing the pad would have been a bad outcome. That the vehicle not only made a it through Max-Q and some wild maneuvers is also good news.

@spaceflight I'm sure it will be spectacular whatever happens (please no #RUD!) I tried to get any of my family to join in watching the full stack propellant load test at the weekend - alas they don't understand the beauty of a growing frost ring!
