Ein Film, der mich in der Kindheit sehr begeistert hat. Zugegeben, der Humor ist nicht wirklich gut gealtert, aber die Schauspieler in ihren Anzügen haben 1000mal mehr Seele und Charme als die computeranimierten Turtles der Neuauflage! Mein 6-jähriger Sohn war auch hin und weg, also: der Film funktioniert noch heute.

The beauty here *is* strange. I can see why #Victorian sensibility were so disturbed - #Raphael it is not.

'Stark' is the word often used, interpreted as:

+ Flatness of polychromatic tone
+ Lack of depth in modelling of the human form
+ Comic elongation of Venus's body
+ Sharpness of outline

But then there's her jaunty bonnet and that strangeness disappears. It's weird; different rules apply.

The planets truly aligned in 2008 under the Directorship of Nicolas Penny. Their collective desire to display paintings in as contemporary a frame as possible has transformed the gallery.
