In #Winnipeg , Bishop Grandin, a symbol of #colonial power, is being #replaced by #languages of the #historically #oppressed : #Cree , #Ojibwe & #Métis . While this is precisely the point behind the change, it may make those uncertain about changing power structures uncomfortable.

Piestewa Peak in Phoenix used to be Squaw Peak. Fixed some years back by naming it after a Hopi woman who died early on during the Iraq invasion. Glad to see this happening more widely:
