I want to hear from all the people who love their kindle or ereader because I am TRYING to use mine more for a variety of reasons (better reading posture in bed, not carrying a kilo of books in my bag, not needing to buy a new bookshelf AGAIN) but I am a real book gal so I need to hear all your gushy love for ereaders so I can feel inspired to pick mine up more.

(Es gibt tatsächlich ein "Nischen-Netz", welches dieser Philosophie (teilweise) folgt. Siehe z.B. #Gopher und #Gemini. Leider sind diese Netze hauptsächlich von Tech Nerds besiedelt und ansonsten quasi unbekannt.)

#ReaderMode sollte der Default Modus für jede Seite sein! :-)

Unabhängig davon bietet ihr @SchwarzerPfeil ja auch #Mobi und #Epub als Download an. Das finde ich gut, weil diese Formate ziemlich gut zugänglich sind (aber diese Formate entsprechen diese Philosophie nicht wirklich).

@SchwarzerPfeil Ich bin nicht so sehr Fän von solchen Plugins. Ich finde, Seiten sollten *grundsätzlich* so gestaltet werden, dass jede* sie gut lesen kann -- auch auf allen Geräten.

Des Weiteren bieten Browser wie #Firefox den #ReaderMode. Damit können (fast) *alle* Artikel *konsistent* angezeigt werden; es gibt sogar eine integrierte Vorlesefunktion (falls das OS TTS unterstützt). Das finde ich besser, als wenn man* jede Seite selbst per Plugin konfigurieren muss.

Ich habe dafür etwas mit den DeveloperTools rumgespielt. Im nächsten Toot schreibe ich ein paar konkrete Verbesserungsvorschläge. (Disclaimer: Ich bin kein Design-Experte, aber hier im #Fediverse sind ja einige unterwegs.)

Perhaps the makers of the #Brave browser are not Surveillance Capitalists but they clearly are Attention Capitalists. You get distracted by ads (inserted by the browser!), and by exchange you get sort of #crypto tokens, and thus also partake in the destruction of the #planet!

I would *never* trade my attention for any currency. Probably many other people with #adhd would agree with me. The #web is already #broken enough, so when I need to browse the web, I won't and can't make compromises: Adblockers and tools like the #ReaderMode of #Firefox make the web more bearable.
