My next read is another amazing book "How Far We Go In The Dark" by Sequoia Nagamatsu. It's about a ancient artic virus that's unleashed due to global warming. So far it's excellent, and rough on the feelers on occasion.

Even though we don't have centralized heating, at least I'm warm. Wife woke me up on accident, so now I'm trying to go back to sleep by reading "The World We make". Half way done, and what a lovely book. Even more engaging then the first. Never been to New York, but I feel I understand it a bit more. Roomie is from New York (and Arizona and Pennsylvania) and it astounds me she ever survived there honestly. It sounds magically, but also terrifying. Much like Las Vegas, where I was born and raised until 1999 when my parents naively moved to Idaho thinking it was safer and more affordable (it isn't). I like when books make me feel a place in my bones, fantasy or real. This book does that beautiful. And the inclusion of the lqbtq community as main characters is chefs kiss :blobCoffeeJump:

Omg why does my eye pain have to lessen at 3:30 am??? Just so my brain can flip on. Ugh. Guess I'll be reading for awhile. "Lies or Locke Lamora" got very good all of a sudden last night.
I guess there could be worse things to do during another night of insomnia.

Finished "Record of a Spaceborn Few". It was excellent! Was extremely stuck on what to read next. Ended up on "The Lies of Locke Lamora" by Scott Lynch. People say it's really good, so I'm giving it a chance.

J'ai presque fini « Amnesty » par Lara Elena Donnelly, la troisième partie d'une série qui j'ai lu décrit comme « Cabaret × le Carré ». Ici — après le lieu-cœur de la première partie a vaincu les fascistes qui menaçaient cette partie et qui l'ont conquis à al deuxième — on suit le cabarettiste, son ancien-copain l'espion–traître, la sœur de cet espion et sa famille et le secrétaire–copain du cabarettiste avec un ville au fond qui essaye a se reconstruire.

Je viens de commencer une novella nouvelle hier soir.

En 2021, je me suis limité à ne lire que la fiction queer (et « The Transgender Issue ») et je jouissait du série « Green Bone Saga », une trilogie de fiction spéculative épopée, Hugo-nommée et inspirée par le gangsterisme et par le wǔxiá. Ce mois-ci est sortie la novella « The Jade Setter of Janloon », Le bijoutier-de-jade de Janloun — le chef-lieu du pays centrale de la série.
