I got a bit distracted by a pair of bathing red-browed finches today. We haven't seen these guys here before. They've been hanging out with the double-barred finches at the herb garden bird bath, but I managed to get some shots of them on their own today.

Went for a #bird walk this morning as the weather was nice for the first time on this trip (not hot, nicely overcast).

I wandered down to Old Toongabbie Creek and did the part of the creekside walk.

We have a corvid of some sort, a #Galah & a #RedBrowedFinch & a #BellMiner

The Red-browed Finches out the front of our place are still industriously nest building. Here is one of them taking a very short break after bringing more grass back to the nest.

They're so quick, and the nest is so well hidden amongst the branches that getting a decent shot is somewhat difficult.

Today, we have a juvenile Kookaburra with a massive grub the nearby parent brought it for breakfast.

And some Red-browed Finches industriously building a nest in the tree out the front of my place.

This tiny Red-Browed Finch tried really hard to take this stalk of grass for its nest, but the grass had other ideas.
