Have you heard of the Spirit of Elijah? Is it important to know?

On the Mt. of Transfiguration, Jesus said that Elijah had come and will come again to restore all things (ref Matt 17:11-12). John the Baptist came in the Spirit of Elijah, but Elijah coming again is not addressed in today's theologies (Luke 1:17).
So, what is the Spirit of Elijah and why do we, as Christians, need to understand its significance?

The Spirit of Elijah prepares that way of the Lord by making the way straight. John the Baptist prepared the way of the Lord by bringing a message of the revelation of Jesus Christ. That message was to bring heart of repentance in order to follow Jesus (ref Mal 4: 5-6, Mar 1:1-9).

In general, the patterns of behavior, eating, sleeping, exercising, smoking, excessive alcohol, use of illegal drugs, etc. has many variables, but is primarily influenced by how one thinks or believes. The belief system one has can lead to addictive patterns, good or bad. What was it in Christ that allowed Him to heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out demons? It is the same thing being offered to us and Jesus said we would do even greater works (ref John 14:12). So, if you’re broken in spirit, soul or body, trust Christ in you to make it straight.

From a Caterpillar to a Butterfly

Scripture says we are not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our mind (ref Rom 12:2).
The word ‘transformed’ in the Greek, is the word metamorphoō meaning: to transform literally or figuratively; “metamorphose”: to change, transfigure.
This is a beautiful and symbolic picture of our process as a believer. God doesn’t want us to stay the same, being conformed to the ways of the world, staying on earthly things like a caterpillar crawling along the earth; He wants us to learn and grow in our understanding of Him in order to be changed into His image/character, which is to set our minds, our understanding on things above (ref Col 3:2-4 and 1Jn 2:15-17).

The Fruit That Redeems by Jamie Varela

The Lord is restoring what was once lost in the garden and turning His people back to truth. When the glory is fully manifested there will no more be a suppressing of the truth (Romans 1:18 AMP). The full redemption happens as righteousness, or as right understanding is revealed to us through the revelation of the Word.
