Dave Concepción is one of two SS to have 5 Gold Gloves and 100 HR. The 9x All-Star played all 19 years with the Reds and was a starter on the 1975 and 1976 championship teams.
Concepción finished his career with 2326 H, 101 HR, 321 SB, and 40.1 bWAR. From 1970-2004, the Reds employed just two main starting SS: Concepción and Barry Larkin.

Nick Senzel walk-off homer ends homerless streak, #Reds sweep Texas Rangers with 3 come-from-behind wins https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/mlb/reds/2023/04/26/reds-vs-rangers-game-nick-senzel-completes-sweep-with-walk-off-homer/70153789007/
Swept by the Pirates, 6 runs in 4 games. New rock bottom for this franchise. #Reds
Today's Drew Smyly performance reminded me of Milt Pappas' near perfect game for the Cubs on 9/2/72. Pappas retired the 1st 26 batters before a controversial walk to the 27th batter on a full count. He'd retire the next batter to earn a no hitter.
While derided as the player who Frank Robinson was traded for, he won 209 games in his career, 99 after the Robinson trade.

Gotta look on the bright side though, at least we didn't lose 11-0 to the Rays today

Don Gullett played on four straight World Series champions: 1975-76 Cincinnati Reds and 1977-78 New York Yankees. Sparky Anderson called him a sure Hall of Famer and the Yankees bet on his talent by signing him to a 6 year $2 million dollar contract in the 1st free agent class of 1976.
Gullett led the league in win % twice, going 16-6 in 1971 and 14-4 in 1977. However injuries limited him to a 109-50 record.
The 1940 World Series was a 7 game thriller between the Reds and Tigers with pitchers dominating the storylines. Tigers P Bobo Newsom won G1 w his father in the stands, then came back to win G5 after his father died suddenly. However, Reds P Bucky Walters and Paul Derringer, who combined for 42 wins in 1940, won two games apiece to give the Reds their 2nd title.
Reds manager Bill McKechnie became the first manager to win titles w two teams (1925 Pirates).
Last year it took the #Reds 25 games to win 3, hoping for a slightly better performance this year
