I am regularly lectured on egregious errors made by (particularly U.S.) authors of #RegencyFiction.

The latest lecture was about how Regency England didn't have #chipmunks; and how cream delivered in a "pitcher" rather than in a jug for afternoon tea was hugely overestimating the teacup size.

I wonder how the lecturer would react to the proposal that authors use #ChatGPT et al. to churn out bad Regency historical fiction novels, no doubt trained on existing Regency pulp fiction, by the tonne?

@Remittancegirl I have been regularly lectured on the failings of authors of #RegencyFiction . One of the latest lectures was about an author who clearly didn't know how high hop bushes grew.

Given that I now keep finding things like https://mastodon.scot/@bodhipaksa/109642053453376904 as well, I suspect that some sort of support group for Regency novel readers is in order.
