I was listening to the latest episode of #Upgrade last night from #RelayFM & I wish that Upgrade & Myke were here, but I respect his decision on how he spends his time. I've tried the #Discord, but I am on many of them & have never really felt at home on one (maybe my fault as an introvert, even online, despite my best intentions). #Mastodon isn't home yet either, but it's getting better... bit by bit

I was listening to @viticci explain on the Relay.fm Connected podcast how frustrating the “keyboard control panel” is on iPad when an external keyboard is plugged in and he’s right. There’s no reason for that UI to cover stuff up.

A quick fix would be to increase apps’ bottom safe area inset to accommodate the height of the control panel. That would also make the pencil control panel less annoying too.

Thank you for giving it a shot, I think you’ll find the hard part is over…

…except for the app situation. Metatext is the only major actively being worked on as a side project for iOS/iPadOS.

I think that will change quickly now and the fun days of early twitter with weird and neat clients come out.
