Art for today. I've had enormous love for the art of Remedios Varo since I learned about her work in college through Whitney Chadwick's great book, and subsequently wrote an essay about her friendship with Leonora Carrington for a Surrealism art history course at SVA.
Chicago Art Institute currently has what looks to be a remarkable exhibit of her work, and I'm planning a pilgrimage with friends, and of course have pre-ordered the catalog through my local bookshop. So excited!!
