Today in 1918, 2 minutes before WW1 ended, George Lawrence Price of Falmouth, Nova Scotia is killed by a German sniper.
He is the last British Empire soldier to die in the First World War. An American soldier was killed one minute later, believed to be the last of the war

Across the country, people skipped work and school, dropped what they were doing, and celebrated in the streets.
