Before I bought our house I was renting down in the SW of England for three years.

My 3 bed semi-detached was 725 a month.

When I left it was rented out for 875 a month. It's back up for rent at 950 a month.

That's a 225 increase per month, 31%.

How on earth are folk supposed to be able to put a roof over their heads with inflation like that?

Much more rent control is sorely needed.
