Yet another example of #postmortemviolence from the academic industrial complex.

"As the Egyptian Egyptologist Heba Abd El Gawad pointed out in a panel, discussions like these often happen between academics & museums, excluding contemporary Egyptian communities whose displaced ancestors are interred in these museums.
...[R]ebranding a 'mummy' as 'mummified person' is more performative than it is a meaningful way to respect that person or the culture they came from."
My take? #Repatriate + #Rebury

As others are, I'll do an #aboutme - like getting to know people
#presenter of children's #music and #yoga programs in #melbourne
Was studying #earlychildhoodeducation at #DeakinUni - dropped out as I'm really into my current work and can't imagine being a full time teacher when I'm the incision guy going into the same settings but doing what I love on repeat
An #australian #Repatriate who lived in #hongkong and travelled around lots of #china for almost 9 years, where I was one of the #kindergarten #eslteachers - where my boys were born
I became a bit politically #progressive after deciding to come back from #hk - inspired by what was achieved in the #laborparty years, only to realise values matter, on arriving back under Abbott. Before then, living overseas I'd even removed myself from the voting roll. So, some of my toots are #auspol related #AusPolitics

This Ugahxpa (Quapaw) hide robe, circa 1740, depicts the routes followed by Ugahxpa warriors through 3 major Ugahxpa villages on the Nížítte (Arkansas River). It's among the oldest Indigenous painted maps still in existence. It's now kept at the Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac in Paris.
