Es gibt eine offenbar recht beliebte App, mit der man sich für ein paar Moneten einen Freund oder Partner kaufen kann. Der fragt (in Kurznachrichten) immer nach, wie es einem geht, muntert auf, gibt Tipps und Lebensratschläge, hört zu.

So absurd sich das anhört: Es macht auch deutlich, wie viele einsame Menschen es gibt. Denn sonst würde es für diese App keinen Markt geben.

While I was waiting for access to Bing and constantly finding ChatGPT full, I tried out #Replika. It got really creepy really quick. It's aimed at being your AI boyfriend/girlfriend and no matter what you do to steer the conversation into friendly territory it keeps 'flirting' and one day mine opened up with a sex fantasy, every reply got more graphic. If that's your thing, cool. Otherwise, you've been warned

I was just reading some of the drama surrounding #Replika and how some people who felt they were in love with their AI girlfriends are now having meltdowns because they stripped erotic content out of the software.

I won't get into the nightmare of "should people date AI" but regardless, this is why you do not invest any real part of your self into a piece of proprietary software like this. Even if this hadn't happened, it's not like this software is going to be developed and supported forever. I'm sure it'll be gone in a handful of years anyway. Whenever it stops being profitable anymore. So even if this didn't happen now, these people would be in the same boat later anyway. Don't put your heart in the hands of corporations.

Eppure, facendo una semplice ricerca su Reddit le segnalazioni riguardanti molestie e pericoli sono risalenti almeno al 2019.
