As a professional developer I often encounter the dilemma that other product stakeholders, management and other decision makers don't want to bother specifying the product requirements. But they do require a substantiated effort estimate development has to commit to. Also the customer expects the delivery at some rash-pledged date by sales anyway.

Is this especially bad in #embeddedSystems, as customers are not used to be involved in #RequirementsManagement during the course of the project?

If your one “shall” goes on for several pages and five levels of nested bullets, it’s not a testable requirement.
