Question: Do I need to watch “The Fugitive” (#RetroTV) from the first episode, or can I just jump into the middle of the search for the one-armed man?

The central differences in my wife’s 80s and 90s kids TV experience though, is that principally her parents did not let her watch a lot of programming on ITV. This morning I have introduced her to the wonders of Round the Bend, Motormouth and What’s Up Doc? Which were greeted with an ‘Oh. Right. This realise this all explains so much about your personality?’ She’s probably not wrong. #SundayThoughts #RetroTV
A heck of a lot of 80s kids TV focussed on aliens infiltrating or invading. And the fallout of that. Throw in a world of scarecrows coming to life, and wicked witches trying to murder your favourite emu? Is it any wonder my generation have turned out the way we have!? #SundayThoughts #RetroTV
I mean seriously, how is this guy creeping around in the background, causing mischief, *not* nightmare fuel? #SundayThoughts #RetroTV #MisterNoseybonk #TheHorror

The common ground, from both our perspectives, is that we universally agree that some of the kids TV we experienced in the early 80s was a wee bit macabre. Proper formative years nightmare fuel. Worzel Gummidge. The Tripods. Chocky. Rent-a-ghost. The blank face of Mister Noseybonk from Jigsaw. #SundayThoughts #RetroTV
We both grew up in the UK (but in very different regions). But while my upbringing was about as generically English as they come, one side of my wife’s family are American. So some of her earlier formative cultural notes are a little different to my own. She was largely raised on Jim Henson and Disney. And to a degree, so was I. Just add Lucasfilm into the equation. And Transformers, Terrahawks, Star Fleet. But there are also more US shows she saw while visiting family. #SundayThoughts #RetroTV
During the pandemic the wife and I took to the watching of random videos of retro TV shows and adverts from the 80s and 90s (our childhood) on YouTube. We still do this occasionally, whilst taking a coffee break or sitting eating breakfast. This morning was another such example. And it’s always fascinating to see the differences in perspective between our two childhoods. #SundayThoughts #RetroTV
must a purchase be reasonable? is it not enough to experience childlike wonder every time you look at what you bought? some pics from the time i dropped $16 on an old tv and immediately used it to play @ToontownRewritten | #toontown #RetroTV #retrogaming #nostalgia
