In the end I bought some clearance drill kits for $20 each from the Warehouse. I Frankensteined the battery terminals (red) onto the old tools. The tool doesn't care what flavour of electricity you put into it, as long as it gets the right voltage and current. Some soldering of leads, reused screws, LED bulbs, and copius hot glue later, I had ugly, working tools.
Here's the work light. There is also 2 drills, a sabre saw and a skilsaw. The skilsaw sucks.

#Kapiti #Icecream tubs make great #patio #garden #planters with a bit of tweaking. Layer them 2 deep and punch holes in the top one. This (hopefully) provides drainage and moisture retention. Will see how it goes!
