I have embraced in the last years to try to counter slow, petty or otherwise poor review processes. But it's a workaround and not a solution.

I've been an Associate Editor at one of those old-school journals for a long time (maybe approaching 20 years) and I have been thinking for some time about a different use of my 'free' time. But I've yet to work out what it is. Reviewing preprints maybe?

At that point with and where I kind of hate everything I wrote 😔
Glad I don't edit on the weekends, today was difficult. There were some good bits today, but idk I just felt like there was so much work to do. Feel a little silly for thinking I could write a novel. Already exhausted by the task of draft 2. I suppose the saving grace is I can now go chapter by chapter to fix things. Does anyone else feel like this when editing their work? Any tips on moving through it?

Was man da so zu hören bekommt, ist Lo-Fi vom Feinsten und in allen möglichen Variationen. Von Einflüssen von The Fall bis zu Velvet Underground können die Herrschaften von The Shifters eigentlich alles bedienen. Und auch von 40 Sekunden bis vier Minuten ist von allem etwas dabei.

„Kingmaker“ ist das fünfte Album der Kanadierin Tami Neilson. Ich muss gestehen, ich hatte noch nie irgendwas von der Dame gehört. Nach kurzer Recherche ist dann aber klar: Die Frau, die sich anfangs als Straßenmusikerin in Auckland durchschlagen musste, hat inzwischen so ziemlich jeden Musikpreis abgeräumt, den Neuseeland zu vergeben hat und das nicht ohne Grund.
