The #Reynisdrangar out at sea off #Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, southern #Iceland for #MeerMittwoch. Icelandic legend claims they are the petrified remains of trolls who’d dragged a three-masted ship towards shore but got caught by the sunrise.

Part 2 of 3 of some #TravelPhotography from #OnThisDay in 2018. Our south coast tour of #Iceland continued with a visit to Vík í Mýrdal (or #Vik for short) that you can see in the first two photos here. We walked down a rocky jetty to look back at the charming #church and out to the #basalt columns at sea. The last two photos are from nearby #Reynisfjara and its #BlackSand #Beach. More basalt columns here and the distant view of Dyrhólaey.
