he’s someone who’s been pivotal in my life - so i am never satisfied with my portraits & tend to give it another bash at every opportunity. river was born #otd in 1970 & his prescience was astonishing.
i'll never forget earth day 1990 when i saw an interview with him in which he explained what #vegan meant. i realised it's what i'd been calling 'strict vegetarian' & it's what i was striving to be. i never looked back.
i know he'd still be the biggest badarse on earth if he hadn't done that pavement tango with the medicine that he felt he needed to numb himself to the pain he saw in the world.
although, it’s good he’s not here to see ::gestures:: ALL THIS this on fire, but at least the costa rican rainforest he bought with his hollywood money is still pristine. bisous, beautiful boy - & happy existence day.
