@ThatAndreaM @mirzawriting When timeline and expectations are part of the request for a roadmap, it's often worth digging further into why the people making the request deem the timelines and expectations important. In some cases I've observed, the real concern was the perceived slow pace of progress, which in turn could be due to a lack of shared understanding of the strategy, what "progress" (short of a timeline) means, or process or personnel issues.

@markgroves @mirzawriting You can literally tell stories with roadmaps by orienting them around narratives. How will users' experiences accomplishing their goals change in future releases of the product? You can summarize and group these changes in themes.

But yes, roadmaps are merely a tool to address challenges the product team is facing. Often, other tools (such as having a product strategy refected in a lean canvas) more effectively address the challenges.
