Been a while since I’ve watched an episode of Guy’s Grocery Games. We don’t have cable but we do have the #FoodNetwork app on our #Roku Streambar. Currently season 23 is free. I dialed up the episode titled “April Fools Day”. It was not what I expected. #GuyFieri loves pulling tricks and stunts on contestants. It’s a tribute to Carl Ruiz, a chef, a judge, and a sometimes contestant on #TripleG, who died unexpectedly at the age of 44 of heart disease.

Ok may be making the switch from Chromecast to Plex. On first look, Plex is out WAY ahead on live TV selection. Gonna spend this evening playing around with the streaming. I switched from Roku to Chromecast about 3 years ago and never looked back. But I keep hearing about Plex so finally took the plunge. I'm strictly interested in the streaming. Probably won't create a Plex server. Any tips?

Why do #TV makers even bother with their own OSs for #streaming? I'd rather just buy something that works, like an #AppleTV or #Roku device—and pay less for a TV that doesn't have "smart" features.

But I'm sure there is revenue to be made by having your own OS and collecting viewing data, so we'll keep having half-assed streaming systems built in.

LG, I'm particularly looking at you and your webOS, which I now have on two TVs and don't use. Clunky as all get out, and generally annoying.

My remote set-up is still not universal, anyway, because the sound can now only be controlled through the soundbar's remote. Augh! I see why people pay people to set this crap up. It's not worth it for a small #TV and a soundbar, but it must be hell with a wall installation and a whole multi-speaker set-up and a million cables and remotes to sort through.

Also, my #Roku remote is a voice remote...never tried it. A little too weird.
