本日4月8日は「国際ロマ・デー」#RomaDay 　
シンティやロマの人たちがナチスの人種差別的な迫害の対象になったことは西ドイツで戦後すぐは認めらていなかった（1963年まではナチス下でのシンティ・ロマの強制移送は犯罪（Verbrechen）ではなく予防的な犯罪対策（präventive Verbrechensbekämpfung）と理解する連邦裁判所の判決が有効とされていたそうだ）
そしてその後も差別は続いてきた。ドイツの少数民族（nationale Minderheit）として認められたのは1995年のこと。2012年に連邦議事堂の近くに「国家社会主義下で殺害されたシンティとロマの慰霊碑」が設置された。これについては以前美術手帖さんで記事を書かせていただいた。
