Did I hear #SAQ today? Yes.
Did I do it on a large antenna? No, although I did erect a ~11m circumference YouLoop. But there are some issues with it that result in its deafness on #VLF...
So I used my 3-element Quad for #FMDX (pic from May, I improved the build a bit since), and while the signal wasn't too strong, it was still better than last Christmas on a 12x4.5m KAZ! (Though QRM remains same then & now)

Great day in the sunshine ☀️ in the garden playing ham radio.
🔹Worked some LEO sats.
🔹Set up to receive QO-100 for the first time using a 23ish year old dish.
🔹Tried to receive #SAQ but no luck.
🔹Also early stages of getting set up to work IO-117.
Made good use of the cat's scratching post too 😹

Remember, that's an alternator, mostly a mechanical thing, so how come could it produce a harmonic?!
OTOH, well, if that explains the weak signal on the fundamental... #SAQ #VLF #WorldRadioDay

.....yeeeeeeeesssss, Swedish Navy station SRC on 40.4 kHz is missing this morning... which is a good sign that #SAQ is about to go on air ❤
But another SRC (?) on 42.5 kHz is ALSO missing 😱 is it from Grimeton/Varberg too?
Anyway, 17.2 kHz, tuning from 1430z, message from 1500z. Try it! 📻
