Since Texas' #SB8 went into effect in September 2021, There have been dozens, but more likely hundreds of articles just like this, even verbatim calling #TheSatanicTemple the "last, best hope" for abortion rights

They have pulled in unknown hundreds of thousands of dollars in tax-exempt donations + even more in merchandise sales as some #Satanists but mostly desperate people and partisan liberals look for some way to stick it to reactionaries. Liberals especially know that leaning into a #SatanicPanic will really piss off those they hate.

But then after boosting the Temple, no journalists ever circle back around to what actually happened, if anything.

This is how the grift works: the news orgs and reporters get their clicks, TST gets its attention and money, and no one else gives a shit what really happens after that.
