@Fuzzbizz Ah, but what surrounds them does. I was told I'd need to replace the windows plus install external insulation (~€55k), plus change all the piping and get ride of the old radiators and instal new - oh, and block up the many chimneys - before even thinking of a heat pump. #SEAI won't give a grant for a #heatpump unless your house is something like B3 BER

The weather has turned and the gaff is so cold, we have those 1950s old iron single-glaze windows and there's zero insulation. It's the last year of of this discomfort as we're getting an #SEAI grant full upgrade in the next two years, yahoo. We're turning on small convector heaters in whatever room we're in (I write in the bedroom)...not bothering to put on the gas heating. Weird times. We light a fire at night in the dining room. How are you all coping?
