works ever.
"Based on a canvassing of experts ranging from the Kennedy Space Center to academia, here is a brief tour of the sci-fi works that were most influential in helping to pave a real-life path to the stars."
I'm actually glad that Rainbow Grocery (here in #SF) shut down its in-house online shopping system. InstaCart does it better in every way. I'm sure there's a lesson in there somewhere.
Mary Robinette Kowal's THE SPARE MAN is an SFnal version of the 1930s THIN MAN movies, & it's an entertaining page-turner. Engineering heiress Tesla Crane and her new husband, retired detective Shal, are on a luxurious Earth-to-Mars cruise. But then a passenger is murdered and Shal is locked up for the crime, so the couple have to investigate to clear their names. At least they have lots of flirtatious banter, cocktails, & her support dog Gimlet! https://maryrobinettekowal.com/writing/the-spare-man/ #books #sf

Obit for Jack Cohen, one of the co-authors of "The #Science of #Discworld" series, who died in May. Written by another co-author, Ian Stewart.
"The Science of Discworld was published in 1999, with three further books following in 2002, 2005 and 2013. The series sold more than a million copies and changed our lives; Jack considered it one of his proudest achievements."
